Manchester United is reportedly leading the race to secure the signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window, should the winger opt to depart Selhurst Park.
The 22-year-old is believed to have an active release clause in his contract, with United's new leadership keen on him as a significant target in their summer squad overhaul, although the exact cost of the deal is uncertain, with figures estimated to range between £50 million and £60 million.
Despite Manchester United's inability to offer Champions League football next season, sources indicate that the club remains undeterred in their pursuit of Olise.
Talks regarding a potential transfer are ongoing, with reports suggesting that United might explore including Aaron Wan-Bissaka as part of the deal to bolster their transfer budget, given financial constraints imposed by the Premier League's profit and sustainability regulations.
However, negotiations are still at a relatively early stage, and other Premier League clubs could provide competition for Olise's signature.
While Chelsea had previously shown interest in Olise, complications arose last summer when they failed to activate his £35 million release clause due to procedural issues. Palace capitalized on the situation to negotiate an improved contract with the promising winger.
Nonetheless, Chelsea might rekindle their interest in Olise, although Financial Fair Play compliance remains a challenge for the club. Liverpool and Arsenal are also reportedly monitoring the situation, with the latter potentially seeking alternatives like Wolves' Pedro Neto, while both clubs could offer Champions League football to attract the talented youngster.
