Manchester United faces potential trio departure as new investor emerges

Posted : 11 November 2023
Manchester United could be parting ways with attacking trio Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, and Antony, as businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe prepares to take a stake in the club before the January transfer window. The Sun reports that the potential arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe at Manchester United might coincide with the departure of the three forwards, each facing challenges within the team.

Meanwhile, The Mirror anticipates the imminent deal between Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Manchester United. Ratcliffe, along with Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, had sought to buy the club for nearly a year. While their original intent was a full takeover, it seems Ratcliffe is now positioned to acquire a 25% stake, providing a significant investment into the club.

Former Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is one of the potential bidders vying for the acquisition of Reading, a former Premier League side in a crisis. The Telegraph notes that Reading's owner Dai Yongge is in talks with several interested parties and is expected to choose a preferred buyer soon.

On a different front, Liverpool is eyeing a substantial bid for 17-year-old Leeds player Archie Gray, according to The Daily Mail. Gray's emergence as a standout in the Championship has drawn the attention of Liverpool, with comparisons being made to the versatility and athleticism of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The potential move could involve a significant financial outlay for the young talent.
