Manchester United Explore Raheem Sterling Transfer Amid Chelsea's Squabble

Manchester United have initiated preliminary discussions to potentially sign Raheem Sterling from Chelsea, as the 29-year-old forward has been training separately from the first-team squad. Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has indicated that Sterling may have limited playing opportunities this season, prompting United sporting director Dan Ashworth to explore a possible deal. Although no agreement is guaranteed, United is keen to leverage Sterling's current situation to their advantage.

 

The terms of any potential deal would be favorable to United, with club sources emphasizing that negotiations will be conducted on their terms. Additionally, winger Jadon Sancho, who is also available, has attracted interest from Chelsea. However, Juventus, another club interested in Sancho, is reluctant to meet United’s terms for a loan deal, particularly the inclusion of an obligation to buy and the full coverage of Sancho’s wages.

 

Sterling, a long-time Manchester United supporter, has a strong connection to the club. He spent a decade in the North West of England, initially with Liverpool and then with Manchester City, where he won numerous titles before his £50 million transfer to Chelsea two years ago.
