Manchester United excludes Jadon Sancho from first-team training amid managerial dispute
Posted : 15 September 2023
Manchester United has announced that Jadon Sancho will not be training with the first-team squad following his public disagreement with manager Erik ten Hag.
The club stated that Sancho will undergo personal training away from the main group while a disciplinary issue is resolved. Additionally, he won't be part of the squad for the upcoming match against Brighton, and there's no set timeline for his return.
The dispute between Sancho and Ten Hag stems from the manager's decision to leave Sancho out of the squad for the game against Arsenal, citing poor training performances as the reason. Sancho publicly refuted these claims on social media, calling them "completely untrue." Although he deleted the post a week later, it has strained his relationship with the club.
Sancho's exclusion from the squad for disciplinary reasons further limits Ten Hag's choices for the upcoming match against Brighton. It adds to the team's woes as they are already missing players like Antony, who is on leave due to allegations of abusive behavior, as well as injured players like Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount, and Raphaël Varane. Additionally, new signing Sofyan Amrabat is unavailable due to a back problem.
The situation surrounding Sancho's training and future involvement with the team remains uncertain, leaving Manchester United with several challenges to overcome.
