Manchester United is reportedly in discussions regarding a summer transfer for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, with a potential deal involving the return of defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Selhurst Park, according to reports.
Olise, 22, who rejected a move to Chelsea last August, might be allowed to leave Palace this summer as part of the club's rebuilding plans. While Liverpool and Chelsea are also interested in Olise, United's willingness to include Wan-Bissaka in the deal could be a compelling factor for Palace, who transferred the right-back to United in a £50 million ($64m) deal in 2019.
United recently triggered a 12-month contract extension for Wan-Bissaka to prevent him from becoming a free agent this summer. However, sources suggest that this decision was primarily made to facilitate the player's sale during the upcoming transfer window, allowing the club to raise funds.
Some members of the Old Trafford recruitment team reportedly have reservations about United's interest in Olise, especially considering the challenges faced by Wan-Bissaka and Wilfried Zaha in transitioning from Palace to the more demanding environment at United.
Despite concerns within the club, United is keen to bolster its attacking options during the summer transfer window. Antony has struggled to make a significant impact since his £85 million move from Ajax in 2022, and young talents like Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri are yet to fully establish themselves. Olise's consistent performances at Palace have made him a prominent target for United as they aim to enhance their attacking lineup.
