Manchester United are not willing to pay £86m for Atalanta's Hojlund

According to sources, Manchester United are unwilling to meet the asking price for Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund, who has been considered as an alternative to Harry Kane. The player is currently valued at £86 million, which has deterred Manchester United from pursuing the deal further.
The report indicates that Manchester United is still in search of additional firepower in the transfer market, with manager Erik ten Hag looking to acquire a prominent No. 9 and possibly a young forward.
Hojlund was seen as a potential candidate for the latter role. However, due to his impressive progress at Atalanta, the Italian club has placed a significant price tag on him.
Hojlund, who scored nine goals last season, is contracted to Atalanta for another four years, granting the club a strong negotiating position. They have set an asking price of £86 million if they are to consider selling the 20-year-old.
Initially, Manchester United had hoped to secure the player for around £45 million. However, with ten Hag aiming to strengthen multiple areas of the team, the club is hesitant to invest a substantial sum in a single player, especially one who may not immediately shine.
As a result, Manchester United has included other names such as Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, and Dusan Vlahovic on their shortlist of potential targets.
