Manchester United announces new shirt sponsorship deal with Qualcomm's Snapdragon brand
Posted : 13 September 2023
Manchester United has announced a new sponsorship deal with U.S. technology company Qualcomm, which will see the Snapdragon brand replace TeamViewer as their shirt sponsor starting from next season. Although the financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed by the club, sources indicate that the deal is valued at £60 million ($75 million) annually.
In 2021, Manchester United had signed a five-year deal with German tech firm TeamViewer to become their principal shirt sponsor, replacing Chevrolet. However, the club revealed in December that they had reached a "mutually-beneficial agreement" with TeamViewer, allowing them the option to repurchase the rights to their shirt front sponsorship.
Manchester United stated that they would conduct a focused sales process in a "normalized market," as the initial TeamViewer deal was struck during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In their official statement, Manchester United announced, "Manchester United has agreed to an expanded strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., that will see the Snapdragon brand displayed on the front of the club's famous shirt. Qualcomm Technologies is already a global partner of Manchester United, promoting its Snapdragon brand. Under the expanded agreement, Snapdragon will become Manchester United's front-of-shirt partner from the start of the 2024-25 season, featuring on the home, away, and third kits of the men's and women's teams."
This new sponsorship deal comes in addition to Manchester United's existing £900 million partnership with Adidas, extending their official kit supplier relationship for another decade.
