Manchester United and Newcastle are reportedly setting their sights on Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot for a January transfer. This pursuit was initially reported by the Italian outlet Calciomercato, and The Sun has also picked up on it, highlighting the Premier League duo's interest in the midfielder when the winter transfer window opens.
Although Manchester United had strong links to the 28-year-old over the summer, no deal materialized. Meanwhile, Newcastle is keen on bolstering their squad for the Champions League campaign. It's worth noting that Massimiliano Allegri, Juventus's manager, is interested in extending Rabiot's contract.
West Ham Ends Interest in Jesse Lingard as He Seeks Opportunities in Saudi Arabia
In other transfer news, West Ham has decided to end their pursuit of signing Jesse Lingard, as reported in various outlets. Lingard, who became a free agent after leaving Nottingham Forest at the end of the previous season, had been training with David Moyes' squad since August.
However, West Ham has now withdrawn their interest in signing the former England international. Lingard will continue his training with Steven Gerrard's Al Ettifaq in the hope of securing a contract in Saudi Arabia.
Villarreal Interested in Donny van de Beek as Manchester United Midfielder Seeks More Playing Time
Donny van de Beek, the Dutch midfielder who has struggled for playing time at Manchester United since joining in September 2020, has piqued the interest of La Liga side Villarreal. Van de Beek spent the previous season on loan at Everton and had limited minutes in the Premier League.
Despite expectations that he would leave Old Trafford before the recent transfer deadline, a move did not materialize. The Manchester Evening News has reported that Villarreal intends to "revive their interest" in the 26-year-old midfielder next summer. Manchester United signed Van de Beek for £25 million three years ago, and it is anticipated that they will incur a significant loss on their investment.
