Manchester City made a significant signing by acquiring Croatian defender Joško Gvardiol from RB Leipzig for a record-breaking fee of €90 million. The 21-year-old had an impressive season with the German team and caught international attention during the World Cup in Qatar, where he helped Croatia finish third.
Gvardiol is excited to work with City's manager Pep Guardiola and is hopeful that his game will improve under the guidance of the renowned coach. This marks City's second signing from Croatia this summer, following Mateo Kovacic's move from Chelsea. The player's last name, "Gvardiol," has drawn comparisons to Guardiola's name, and the defender is playfully nicknamed "Little Pep."
Meanwhile, Manchester United has introduced Danish striker Rasmus Hoyllund, who has signed a five-year contract with the option for an additional season. The 20-year-old forward joined from Atalanta for a reported €75 million, with an additional €10 million in bonuses. Despite being considered a gamble for United, Hoyllund is determined to fulfill his dream of playing at Old Trafford and is eager to work with world-class players and coach Erik ten Hag.
Lastly, Chelsea has secured the services of Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sanchez for around £20 million. The 25-year-old has signed a seven-year deal with the club and will compete with Kepa Arrizabalaga for the starting goalkeeper position.
