Manchester City staged a dramatic comeback to secure a 4-1 victory over newly-promoted Ipswich Town at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, scoring three goals in under four minutes. Ipswich had taken a surprising early lead when Sammie Szmodics capitalized on a defensive lapse and an error by City’s goalkeeper Ederson, putting the visitors ahead in the seventh minute.
City’s response was swift and decisive, with Erling Haaland scoring a penalty in the 12th minute to level the match. Kevin De Bruyne then took advantage of a mistake by Ipswich’s keeper Arijanet Muric to give City the lead. Haaland added his second goal shortly after, when De Bruyne’s clever chip allowed him to outpace Muric and finish.
Haaland completed his hat-trick with a powerful strike from outside the penalty area in the 88th minute, sealing the win and maintaining City's perfect start to the Premier League season. Ipswich, still searching for their first points, were unable to withstand the relentless pressure from the defending champions.
