Manchester City offers €100m for RB Leipzig's Josko Gvardiol

Manchester City is making preparations to submit a bid for RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol during the upcoming summer transfer window. The club aims to reinforce its defense and has identified Gvardiol as a potential target, according to reports.
The centre-back is reportedly open to a move, but Leipzig is expected to demand a fee exceeding €100 million for his services. Although Gvardiol has a release clause of €110 million that becomes active next summer, City is keen to secure his signing in the current transfer window.
The Croatian defender has garnered attention as one of Europe's most promising talents in his position. He has been linked with other clubs such as Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Chelsea, but Manchester City appears to be at the forefront of the race. Since joining Leipzig from Dinamo Zagreb in 2021, Gvardiol has accumulated 87 appearances.
City is undergoing a period of transition, with Kyle Walker expected to finalize a move to Bayern Munich, and doubts surrounding the future of Aymeric Laporte amid links to Paris Saint-Germain. Consequently, Gvardiol could be part of a defensive overhaul as manager Pep Guardiola seeks to rejuvenate his treble-winning squad.
