Despite Kiernan Dewsbury-dismissal, Hall's the Foxes were poised to earn a crucial point in their first match following Brendan Rodgers' dismissal.
After being sent through by Emiliano Buendia, Ollie Watkins scored the eighth goal in 10 games to put Villa ahead on his 100th Premier League appearance.
Villa had only given up once in their previous five games, but Harvey Barnes' superb goal, which came after Ashley Young had been brushed off and cut in from the wing after Wout Faes' sweeping ball, proved to be the difference.
Midway through the second half, Dewsbury-Hall was dismissed for his second cautionable offense, but the Foxes managed to hold on until Villa's Bertrand Traore curled in the game-winning goal in the 87th minute.
Leicester were given a penalty in the 92nd minute, but referee Graham Scott later changed his mind after viewing a replay on the pitchside monitor.
