Man Utd enters race for Danish-Nigerian defender, joining Tottenham, Chelsea

Manchester United has emerged as the latest Premier League team interested in Super Eagles-eligible defender Patrick Dorgu. The Red Devils are reportedly considering a move for the Lecce left-back as they prepare for the upcoming transfer window, according to HITC.


United's interest in Dorgu comes in response to ongoing injury issues affecting their current left-backs, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. The club is keen to bolster their defense with a reliable new signing.


Earlier in the summer, Tottenham Hotspur had included Dorgu on their transfer shortlist. Chelsea also showed interest in him in July, but they were unable to finalize a deal at that time.


Tottenham sees Dorgu as a potential replacement for Ben Davies, who is entering the final year of his contract with the club. The Spurs are evaluating their options as they look to strengthen their squad.


Patrick Dorgu recently made headlines when he scored just 47 seconds into his senior debut for Denmark, helping secure a 2-0 victory over Switzerland. His performance has further boosted his growing reputation.


The 19-year-old, who came through the FC Nordsjaelland academy, is valued around 30 million euros by Lecce. Dorgu has been compared to Real Madrid legend Gareth Bale, reflecting his potential and impact on the field.


In addition to Premier League clubs, European giants like Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich are also monitoring Dorgu's progress. The young fullback has played 38 games for Lecce, contributing two goals and an assist.
