Posted : 06 April 2023
Despite worries that the process has stagnated, reports claim Man United personnel has been reassured that "clarity" over the club's ownership issue should exist before the end of the season.
The desire of British businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari financier Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani to acquire United from the Glazer family has been made public.
Although Ratcliffe and Jassim value United at less than Glazer's asking price of £6 billion ($7.2 billion), they have been asked to meet with the club and Raine Group.
By the end of April, a compromise valuation might be struck, giving potential new owners control over the summertime transfer period.
The two Glazer siblings who are most averse to selling United are Joel and Avram, although Avram went to Wembley to see Erik ten Hag's team win the Carabao Cup.
Although takeover offers will be given priority, two U.S.-based equity funds have expressed interest in obtaining a minority stake.
To maintain control of the team they purchased in 2005, the Glazers are investigating strategic alternatives, such as a sale or investment.
