Man United scouting Sesko, Ekitike, transfer rumors circulating

Posted : 18 March 2025

Manchester United's pursuit of a new striker continues as the club has added two names to its list of potential targets. According to Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sports Deutschland, Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig and Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt are both under consideration. The Red Devils have reportedly been intensively scouting these players and have already made inquiries about their availability for a summer move to Old Trafford. Sesko, aged 21, has netted 16 goals in 35 games across all competitions this season, while Ekitike, 22, has scored 19 in 37 matches. However, Manchester United's priority remains Sporting CP's Viktor Gyökeres and Napoli's Victor Osimhen.

In other transfer news, Newcastle United is resolute in their intention to keep Alexander Isak at the club. According to the Daily Mail, the club’s chairman, Yasir Al-Rumayyan, has informed the board that no offers for the 25-year-old striker will be entertained this summer. Barcelona scouts recently watched Isak during Newcastle's 1-0 win over West Ham United in the Premier League. The Swedish forward, who has three years left on his contract at St James' Park, has also attracted interest from Liverpool and Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Manchester City is focusing on acquiring Atalanta midfielder Éderson, as per reports from TeamTalk. City manager Pep Guardiola views the 25-year-old as a potential long-term replacement for Mateo Kovacic, who is expected to depart in the summer. Ederson has made 41 appearances for Atalanta this season and his impressive performances have caught the attention of top European clubs.

AC Milan is planning to make Manchester City defender Kyle Walker’s loan deal permanent. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan is willing to offer €5 million to secure the 34-year-old, whose consistent performances have impressed the Rossoneri. However, Milan is less certain about the future of João Félix, who is expected to return to Chelsea after his loan at the San Siro ends.

Real Madrid scouts are set to observe AFC Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen, according to The Sun. The 19-year-old, recently called up to the Spain national team as a replacement for the injured Iñigo Martínez of Barcelona, has impressed the Madrid scouts. Manchester United is also reportedly interested in making a move for the young defender during the summer transfer window.

In additional transfer rumors, Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong remains on Liverpool's radar, with the 24-year-old expected to seek a move in the summer. Kalvin Phillips, currently on loan at Ipswich Town, hopes to return to Leeds United after struggling to make an impact at Manchester City. Meanwhile, Newcastle United is leading the race to sign 18-year-old striker Antonio Cordero from Malaga, with Barcelona and Real Madrid also interested.

Liverpool is said to be the frontrunner to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace in the summer. The 24-year-old centre-back, who is entering the final 12 months of his contract, is also attracting interest from Chelsea, Newcastle, and Tottenham. The competition for his signature is expected to intensify as the summer window approaches.
