Man City cancels Nigerian midfielder deal after meniscus tear
Posted : 10 July 2023
Premier League champions Manchester City have decided against signing Sam Tinubu, the talented teenage Nigerian midfielder, after he suffered a meniscus tear during a training session.
Tinubu had agreed to join City on a two-year deal following the expiration of his contract with Stevenage.
However, the deal was contingent upon Tinubu passing a medical examination, which unfortunately revealed his injury.
The setback occurred just days before his scheduled medical with Manchester City.
Although Norwich City has expressed interest in signing Tinubu during the mid-season transfer window, he is currently focused on undergoing meniscus surgery to rectify the issue.
Tinubu, who holds the distinction of being the youngest-ever player to feature for Stevenage in the Football League, remains determined to recover and resume his promising career.
