Nigerian winger Noni Madueke, who played alongside central defender Levi Colwill in England's U21 Euro-winning team, has reassured Chelsea fans that he will ensure Colwill's return to Stamford Bridge for the upcoming season.
Although Colwill's future at Chelsea is uncertain with interest from clubs like Brighton & Hove, Madueke expressed confidence in his teammate's comeback.
The two players have never played together at Chelsea, as Colwill spent last season on loan at Brighton, while Madueke joined Chelsea in January from PSV Eindhoven.
In an Instagram live session after their U21 Euro victory, Colwill and Madueke discussed their return to Chelsea, with Madueke vowing to make sure Colwill rejoins the club.
If Brighton fails to sign Colwill, their alternative target is Ajax Amsterdam's Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey, who plays as a left-footed central defender.
Brighton had previously attempted to sign Bassey last summer without success.
