Frank Onyeka, a key player for the Super Eagles, earned his fifth Premier League start of the 2022/2023 season under the guidance of manager Thomas Frank.
In an impressive 2-0 victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Onyeka showcased his skills and contributed significantly to Brentford's success.
Noni Madueke, an eligible winger for Nigeria, made a brief appearance of 11 minutes for Chelsea, marking his sixth top-flight appearance since joining from PSV Eindhoven in January.
Meanwhile, Carney Chukwumeka, England's U20 international, was absent from the Blues' matchday squad for the fourth consecutive league game.
During the match, Onyeka was brought down inside the Chelsea penalty area but was denied a penalty by the referee, despite the Bees' claims.
Cesar Azpilicueta unfortunately scored an own goal for Chelsea in the 37th minute, deflecting the ball into his team's net.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a former Arsenal and Barcelona striker, came close to equalizing for Chelsea early in the second half, narrowly missing the target with his header.
However, Bryan Mbeumo capitalized on a brilliant move and doubled Brentford's advantage with a goal in the 78th minute.
Following the goal, Madueke made his first appearance under Chelsea's caretaker manager, Frank Lampard.
Additionally, Kevin Schade, on loan from SC Freiburg, entered the game as a substitute with seven minutes remaining, replacing Raheem Sterling and Ivan Toney, respectively.
Madueke had a chance to score a consolation goal late in the game with a header near the post, but it failed to trouble Raya, Brentford's goalkeeper.
