Luke Shaw, Manchester United defender and England international, has been promoting his club to his national team-mates and would welcome the signings of Harry Kane and Declan Rice with open arms. Shaw has been in contact with both players, praising Manchester and expressing his belief in their qualities.
However, he acknowledges that the final decision rests with the club. Despite the banter and discussions surrounding potential transfers, Shaw remains focused on the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifier against North Macedonia, which will be played at United's home ground, Old Trafford.
Shaw's playful comments about wanting Kane and Rice to join United were made during England's preparations at the Carrington training base.
e shared pictures on social media of himself alongside the two players, jokingly referring to it as a "Carrington tour." While Shaw admits there's a bit of humor involved, he genuinely believes that both Kane and Rice would greatly benefit the team if they were to join.
Gareth Southgate, the England manager, praised Marcus Rashford ahead of the match, highlighting the progress he has made as a striker. Rashford, who had a prolific season at United, scoring 30 goals, is expected to feature prominently in the game at Old Trafford.
Southgate noted that Rashford's improved goal tally demonstrates significant development and acknowledged his versatility as both a left-sided player and a number nine.
Shaw's endorsement of Manchester United to his England teammates, his openness to the potential signings of Kane and Rice, and Rashford's impressive goal-scoring form add an intriguing dimension to the upcoming qualifier while generating excitement and speculation surrounding United's transfer activities.
