Luke Shaw, Manchester United’s left back, has confirmed that he has suffered another injury setback just two weeks after making his return to action. The England international, who has struggled with injuries throughout the year, reportedly picked up a new issue during training, which may keep him sidelined for several weeks.
The 29-year-old, who had already missed the start of the season due to a calf injury, expressed his frustration in a social media post on Tuesday. Shaw acknowledged the difficulty of dealing with recurring setbacks, calling this period his "toughest" and expressing how devastated he is by the latest injury. He also reflected on the emotional challenges of accepting the reality of his situation.
Shaw had been out for nearly four months earlier in the year due to a muscle injury sustained in February, but he returned to action in late November. He made a brief appearance off the bench in United's 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on November 24, followed by two more substitute appearances. Manchester United, currently sitting ninth in the Premier League, will face second-placed Arsenal in their next match on Wednesday.
