Lobi Stars unveil new foreign coach

Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi has unveiled a new head coach, Mika Lönnström, who will assist the Technical Adviser, Daniel Amokachi, in turning things around for the club.


The unveiling ceremony was held at the team’s training facility, McCarthy Stadium, Makurdi.


The Finnish national, Lönnström, will oversee the daily administration of the players alongside the Technical Adviser of the club, Amokachi.

Lobi Stars Chairman, Dr. Philip Nongu, in his remarks, welcomed the new coach, saying, “We’re delighted to have Coach Lönnström on board. His expertise and passion will undoubtedly elevate our team’s performance.”


“We are here at this important event to introduce to the Benue community, the players, as well as sports journalists, the newly appointed head coach, Mr. Lönnström, who will work together with the other technical crew members with the goal of moving the club out of its current position and making it more competitive.”


Coach Lönnström, in his response, expressed excitement about joining the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side.


“I’m honoured to be part of Lobi Stars’ rich history and am committed to driving the team to success,” Lönnström said.
