In spite of a series of setbacks to their aspirations of playing continental football next year, Lobi Stars' Head Coach, Eugene Agagbe, remains optimistic that his side will secure one of the available four slots at the end of the season.
Agagbe, in an exclusive chat, said that the team would continue to push until the end of the season, adding that it is not over until it's over.
The record-seeking tactician said he would not back down in his pursuit of continental ticket after his side defeated Niger Tornadoes 1-0 on Match Day 16 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The coach said his players had put in great efforts, which had seen the club reach its current position.
“We have to work harder to get to where we want to be.
"The boys showed character in their continued push in the match against Tornadoes.
“As we get close to the end of the first stanza of the season, the team needs to be in a comfortable position on the log for confidence when the second stanza resumes.
“We will be in Ilorin for our next match, and I hope we will have a good game against Kwara United there.
The team lost their last match and will hope to do better at home. But my boys' stability gives me confidence wherever we go to play."
Lobi Stars maintain their second position on the log with 29 points from 16 matches played. They are only behind Remo Stars on goal difference of 9 to 4.
