Lobi Stars FC etched their name in glory once again, emerging as champions of the 2025 President Federation Cup after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over a determined Flight FC Gboko at the Benue State University Sports Complex in Makurdi.
Coach Sam Addingi made sweeping changes to the squad that featured in the previous clash against 3SC, introducing fresh legs that delivered a thrilling performance.
The Pride of Benue took an early lead in the 20th minute when Johnmark Aule curled a stunning free-kick into the net, setting the tone for an electrifying contest.
However, Flight FC responded just before halftime, with John Lim restoring parity in the 45th minute.
The decisive moment came in the 53rd minute when Samuel Tiza struck clinically, sealing a well-deserved victory for Lobi Stars. The Transporters fought gallantly, but the Pride of Benue held firm to lift the coveted trophy.
With the Federation Cup triumph secured, Lobi Stars now turn their focus to the Nigeria Premier Football League, where they are set to host regional rivals Niger Tornadoes midweek at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
