2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 26: Lobi Stars FC begins life without Amokachi in a date against Niger Tornadoes

Lobi Stars FC will begin a new chapter after the departure of their coach and Super Eagles legend, Daniel Amokachi, who resigned after their last match. They will now welcome their neighbors, Niger Tornadoes, for the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 26 fixture.


Perhaps the biggest challenge for the Alia Boys has been playing their home matches away from home—first at Lafia Township Stadium and now at Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.


In their last meeting with the Ikon Allah Boys, the "Yes Father Boys" secured a point in Minna. However, in this reverse fixture, they will be aiming for all three points to aid their survival in the elite league—if that is to happen.


Following Amokachi’s departure, Lobi Stars have appointed Samuel Addingi as their interim coach, placing heavy expectations on his shoulders to keep the team afloat.


Having been a member of the backroom staff for some time, Addingi will now step up to lead the team until the end of the season.


Lobi Stars secured a 2-2 draw in Ibadan against Shooting Stars in Addingi’s first game as interim coach.


However, they will need to find a way to contain Tornadoes’ midfield lynchpin, "Papa Mustapha Daniel," who has been a key influence for the Ikon Allah Boys this season. Tornadoes, in turn, will be pushing for as many points as possible.
