Liverpool's Fabinho excluded from training camp due to £40m Al-Ittihad bid

Liverpool's midfielder Fabinho has been excluded from the squad for the team's training camp in Germany due to a £40m bid from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad. On the other hand, captain Jordan Henderson, who has also been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, has traveled with the team.
The offer for Fabinho was received by Liverpool on Friday night, and after discussions between the club and player, it was decided to remove the Brazilian midfielder from the touring party, which left on Saturday.
Fabinho has been a key player for Liverpool since joining the club from Monaco in July 2018 for a fee around £39m. He played a significant role in helping the team win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.
There are reports that Henderson is also a target for Al-Ettifaq, the club recently appointed by former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard as their manager. However, Liverpool has not set an asking price for Henderson, and the £10m offer rumored falls below the club's valuation for a player with two years left on his contract and who has been an integral part of the team.
Liverpool has been working on rebuilding their midfield after the departures of James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. They have made some signings, including Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig, but losing the experience of Fabinho and potentially Henderson could influence the club's transfer strategy. While several potential targets are being considered, Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, who is expected to join Chelsea, is not among them.
