Liverpool close to securing Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo for £110 million

The outcome saw Liverpool outbid Chelsea's previous offer of £100 million, a development revealed by The Athletic. As a result, it is anticipated that Caicedo will soon embark on a journey to Merseyside for a medical examination on Friday. The finalization of personal terms is also expected to be a straightforward process.
 
Liverpool's ambition to secure Caicedo's services represents a significant step, potentially resulting in a new transfer record for the club. Notably, Brighton had signed the young defensive midfielder from Independiente del Valle for a mere £4.5 million in 2021, making the potential £110 million transfer fee a monumental leap. Furthermore, the Ecuadorian club is poised to benefit from a portion of this substantial fee.
 
The upcoming acquisition of Caicedo adds to Liverpool's comprehensive midfield overhaul during this transfer window. Notably, the club has welcomed Alexis MacAllister, Caicedo's former Brighton teammate, and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.
