Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United Secure Pre-Season Wins; AC Milan Defeats Real Madrid

On Wednesday, Liverpool secured a 2-1 victory over Arsenal in a pre-season match, with goals from Mo Salah and Fabio Carvalho. In front of a crowd of 69,879 at the Philadelphia Eagles' home stadium, Salah opened the scoring in the 13th minute by racing onto a pass from Harvey Elliott and scoring with a low left-footed shot.

 

Carvalho extended Liverpool's lead in the 34th minute, finishing a lofted pass from Elliott with a precise right-foot volley through Arsenal's goalkeeper Karl Hein. Arsenal's only goal came in the 40th minute from Kai Havertz, who scored from close range after being set up by Martin Ødegaard. A goalless second half ensured the win for Liverpool, now managed by Dutch coach Arne Slot, who replaced Jürgen Klopp.

 

In other pre-season action, Chelsea defeated Mexico’s Club America 3-0 in San Diego. Christopher Nkunku scored an early penalty in the third minute, followed by a 21st-minute header from 18-year-old Marc Guiu. Noni Madueke sealed the win with a second penalty in the 79th minute. Chelsea's dominant performance highlighted their strong pre-season form.

 

Meanwhile, Manchester United edged Real Betis 3-2 in their friendly match. Real Betis took the lead in the 15th minute with a goal from Iker Losada. However, Manchester United quickly responded with Marcus Rashford converting a penalty in the 18th minute, followed by goals from Amad Diallo in the 24th minute and Casemiro in the 31st minute. Diego Llorente's header in the 61st minute pulled one back for Betis, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

 

In Chicago, AC Milan secured a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid thanks to a 55th-minute goal from Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze. The match added to AC Milan's successful pre-season campaign and provided a boost as they prepare for the upcoming season.
