Lisandro Martinez Is Finished for the Year as a Scan Confirms a Metatarsal Fracture, Man Utd Acknowledge a Huge Injury Blow

Lisandro Martinez's fractured metatarsal bone in his foot has caused him to miss the remainder of the season, Manchester United has revealed.

Manchester United's 2-0 lead against Sevilla in the Europa League completely and disastrously collapsed during the tumultuous last 10 minutes at Old Trafford.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, the starting center-back combo, were both forced off the field due to injuries, and the club has now announced that the Argentine will miss the rest of the season after breaking a metatarsal bone in his foot.

A statement posted to United's website read: "Lisandro Martinez has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after fracturing a metatarsal bone in his foot.
"However, the Argentinian defender is expected to make a full recovery in time to be ready for the start of next season."
