Lens, Middlesbrough agree on N11 billion deal for Super Eagles prospect

RC Lens and Middlesbrough FC have come to terms on the transfer of English striker Chuba Akpom, with Akpom set to sign a four-year contract with the French Ligue 1 team.
The agreement entails a €11 million fee, with a potential additional €2 million linked to performance-based incentives, amounting to around N11 billion.
Akpom's successful stint as the top scorer in the Championship last season didn't propel Middlesbrough to the Premier League, leading to his move to Lens, aiming to strengthen their attack after selling Lois Openda to RB Leipzig.
With his adaptable skillset and goal-scoring prowess, Akpom's addition enhances Lens' competitiveness for domestic and European challenges in the upcoming season, marking his debut in French football after spells in England, Greece, and Belgium, where he clinched titles with Arsenal and PAOK.
