Leicester City's Super Eagles-eligible GK up for PL2 Save of the Season nomination

Leicester City's remarkable goalkeeper, Chituru Odunze, who is eligible to represent the Super Eagles, has received a well-deserved nomination for the prestigious Premier League 2 Save of the Season award, as announced by the Foxes on their official website. 

Odunze's football journey has been nothing short of impressive, having previously spent three years with Chelsea before making the move to Leicester City in 2019. 

Prior to his time at Leicester, he honed his skills with notable clubs such as the Calgary Villains, Calgary Blizzard, Calgary Foothills, and the Vancouver Whitecaps.

As an integral part of Leicester City's development squad, the 20-year-old United States underage international, with Nigerian heritage, has solidified his position as the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper. 

Throughout the season, Odunze has displayed commendable performances in the Premier League 2, particularly leaving a lasting impression with his exceptional displays against Blackburn Rovers and Manchester United. 

Additionally, his goalkeeping prowess was on full display during Leicester's thrilling penalty shootout victory against Bradford City in the Papa Johns Trophy.

Among his numerous remarkable saves, it is Odunze's heroic stop during a 3-1 triumph over West Ham United in August that has earned him the nomination for the Save of the Season award. 

Demonstrating consistent excellence, Odunze has been named in the matchday squad for an impressive 22 games this season, starting in 19 of them. 

On three occasions, he has been named as an unused substitute, showcasing his dedication and commitment to the team's success in the Premier League 2.

Odunze's nomination for the Premier League 2 Save of the Season award is a testament to his outstanding abilities and his significant contributions to Leicester City's development squad.
