Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has assured the management and players of Lobi Stars that the state government will soon complete the renovation work at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi.
The governor gave the assurance when the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Ibrahim Gusau, paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Makurdi.
Also in attendance were the Deputy Governor and Chairman of Lobi Stars, Barr Sam Ode, the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lobi Stars, Dominic Iorfa, and Chairman, Benue State Football Association, Barr Paul Edeh.
According to Governor Alia, "I can confirm that the Commissioner of Youths, Sports, and Creativity has been on my neck. Very soon, Lobi Stars Football Club will return to Aper Aku Stadium, even before the league season runs out."
Governor Alia said he is excited about the club's position on the league table and commended the leadership quality of the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for the team's brilliant performance in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Earlier, the NFF President commended the Governor for the support he has given to the Barr. Edeh-led Benue Football Association in the State.
The President, who promised to donate a trophy for the Governor's cup tournament, pleaded with the Governor to keep supporting Benue Football Association through the Ministry of Sports.
Lobi Stars are presently playing their home matches in Lafia Township, in Nassarawa State.
