Serie A side Lazio has shown interest in signing Nigerian forward Rafiu Durosinmi, who has caught the attention of Premier League clubs Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, as reported by Radiosei. Durosinmi, a graduate of the Unique Football Academy in Lagos, has been in excellent form this season with Viktoria Plzeň, performing well both in domestic competitions and in European tournaments.
The 22-year-old forward made an impressive recovery from a serious knee injury that sidelined him for much of the early part of the season. Since returning to action, Durosinmi has scored five goals and provided two assists in just 12 matches, showcasing his talent and potential.
His strong performances have not gone unnoticed, with several clubs across Europe now keeping an eye on his development. Lazio is reportedly among the clubs considering making a move for him in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Angelo Mariano Fabiani, Lazio’s sporting director, is said to have already reached out to Durosinmi’s representatives in an effort to secure a deal. The Italian club is reportedly weighing the option of making an official bid to Viktoria Plzeň, with the forward valued at €4 million by Transfermarkt.
At the same time, both Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers are closely monitoring the Nigerian striker’s progress. According to Football Insider, scouts from both Premier League clubs were present at Viktoria Plzeň’s recent UEFA Europa League match against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
Durosinmi’s current contract with Viktoria Plzeň runs until 2026, but the club is expected to entertain offers for him during the summer transfer window to avoid losing him on a free transfer at the end of next season.
With his injury issues behind him, Durosinmi is determined to maintain his strong performances, aiming to secure a move to one of Europe’s top leagues in the near future. His form this season could be the key to attracting high-profile suitors in the coming months.
