Laureus Sport Awards: Lionel Messi and Argentina's World Cup squad win Laureus honors

Lionel Messi's World Cup-winning performance At the Laureus World Sports Awards, Argentina won two awards: Sportsman of the Year and Team of the Year.
Messi led Argentina to victory at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in December, scoring seven goals and taking home the Golden Ball.
He is the only sportsperson to take home both the team and individual honors in the same calendar year.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, a sprinter from Jamaica, was named sportswoman of the year.
She became the first athlete to win five golds in an individual track event at the Global Athletics Championships when she won the women's 100-meter world championship in Oregon in July.
"This is a special honour," said Paris St-Germain forward Messi, 35.
"Particularly as the Laureus World Sports Awards are in Paris this year, the city that has welcomed my family since we came here in 2021.
"I want to thank all my team-mates, not only from the national team but also at PSG - I have achieved none of this alone and I am grateful to be able to share everything with them."
