Las Palmas has appointed former Espanyol manager Diego Martinez as their new head coach, signing him to a contract until June 2025, with the possibility of an additional year if the team avoids relegation. This decision comes as Las Palmas currently finds itself at the bottom of the LaLiga standings, having yet to secure a win this season.
The 43-year-old Martinez takes over following the departure of Luis Carrion, who was unable to guide the team to victory. So far, Las Palmas has recorded three draws and six losses out of their nine matches in the league.
Martinez brings a wealth of experience to the role, having coached over 100 matches in LaLiga. He also has a background in European competitions, having managed Granada and Olympiacos in the UEFA Europa League, which Las Palmas highlighted in their announcement on Tuesday.
