Laliga Reversed Gavi's Registration Due to Missed Deadline; Barcelona Disputes This

Due to the Catalan club's tardy filing of their lawsuit, the court reversed its judgment to permit Gavi to be registered as a first-team player at Barcelona, LaLiga reported on Monday.
Gavi, 18, renewed his contract at Camp Nou in September through 2026, but the Spanish top flight rejected the move because Barca had spent more than allowed.
After Barca filed a petition challenging that ruling, a judge ordered LaLiga to recognize Gavi's registration on January 31. His prior contracts were set to expire this summer.
According to the judgement, failing to do so “would imply the player's free agency and therefore cause serious, irreparable damage to Barca.”
LaLiga asserted that the ruling has since been reversed as a result of Barca missing a deadline and rendering Gavi's new contract void.
LaLiga said in a statement on Monday: “LaLiga received a notification from the 10th Commercial Court of Barcelona informing of the lifting of the precautionary measures agreed in the Gavi case”
“The reason being Barcelona's failure to comply with the deadlines set for the filing of the main lawsuit.”
Sources told reporters that no deadlines were missed and that the decision has been taken by a "lawyer from the administration of justice, so is not final and [Gavi's registration] will not be reversed until it is final."
Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, has stated that the team will work hard to bolster itself and that they are looking for a right-back and a forward.
