The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has confirmed that the second phase of the 2023 Ardova Premier League will be held in November.
The league will feature 12 men’s clubs and 10 women’s clubs, set to compete from 13th to 26th November at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos, and the Rowe Park Sports Centre, Yaba.
The Secretary-General of the Federation, Umar Lambu, who announced the date for the completion of the league, advised the teams to organize their squads ahead of the competition.
Niger United is currently leading the men’s table with 30 points, followed by Safety Shooters in second place with 28 points, and TojeMarine Academy in third with 27 points.
In the women’s chart, Safety Babes lead the standings with 27 points, closely followed by Defenders Babes with 24 points, and in third place, Rima Queens with 22 points.
Niger United will be aiming to win their second title since 2018, while Safety Babes aim to become the first team to achieve a treble since the reintroduction of the league.
In its sixth season, the league’s new title sponsor, Ardova PLC, provides each of the 20 participating teams (12 men's and 10 women's teams) with a preparatory grant of N500,000, with winners receiving a prize money of N2.5 million.
