Lagos-born Mbakogu signs with Serie C's FC Legnago Salus

Italian Serie C side FC Legnago Salus has officially announced the acquisition of Lagos-born striker Jerry Mbakogu through their official communication channels. 

Among competing lower division teams in Italy, FC Legnago Salus secured the Nigerian player on a one-year contract, valid until the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season. 

With his extensive history in Italian football, including stints at clubs like Scorzè Peseggia, Padova, Palermo, Juve Stabia, Carpi, Krylia Sovetov, Osijek, Cosenza, Apollon Smyrnis, Gubbio, and US Triestina Calcio 1918, Mbakogu boasts 253 domestic appearances, including 24 in Serie A, in addition to experience in Russia, Croatia, and Greece. 

Holding an Italian passport from living in Italy for two decades, Mbakogu is set to contribute to FC Legnago Salus' Serie C campaign for the 2023-2024 season after their promotion from Serie D. 

His competitive debut for the team is anticipated in the Serie C opener against Arzignano Valchiampo on September 2.
