Ladan Bosso, on invitation of foreign based players

Nigeria's U20 coach, Ladan Bosso, has clarified why he chose to include foreign-based professionals in the Flying Eagles squad instead of eligible players from the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Bosso's decision was made to boost the squad's attacking prowess and midfield strength.
During the 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations, Nigeria had trouble scoring goals, finding the net only four times in their first five matches.
Additionally, the fitness of key midfielder Daniel Daga is a major concern ahead of the upcoming tournament in Argentina.
To address these issues, Bosso extended invitations to foreign-based players such as Joel Ideho (Arsenal), Ebenezer Akinsanmiro (Inter Milan), Victor Eletu (AC Milan), Ume Emmanuel and Tochukwu Nnadi (both Botev Plodviv).
These players have been called up to attend a training camp in Abuja with the possibility of inclusion in the final squad for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup.
When asked about his decision to invite foreign-based players to the Flying Eagles, Bosso confirmed the selection and defended his choices, stating that they were made to improve the team's performance and chances of success.
The coach said: "Of course. We have invited so many of them particularly attackers even from the local league. In the Nigeria Premier League, the first seven highest goalscorers, only two can be looked at.
"All others have issues of irregularities from their documentation and this has been the problem we are having.
"We can still lay hands on those outside because certainly their documentation is already clear because they are already playing abroad. I don't have problems with their documentations.
"I have not secured them now, we just sent letters for them to come. By the time I feel the players can justify what they are here for, then we come out with their names."
