Kylian Mbappe Set for Real Madrid Debut Following Euro 2024 Exit

Kylian Mbappe's imminent arrival at Real Madrid has been confirmed by the club, with the French star set to be officially presented at the Santiago-Bernabeu stadium next Tuesday. This announcement follows France's Euro 2024 semifinal exit at the hands of Spain, where Mbappe, despite a challenging tournament marked by a broken nose and missed opportunities, will don the number 9 shirt for his new club.

 

Scheduled for midday (11:00 WAT) on Tuesday, Mbappe's presentation will include the signing of a five-year contract in the presence of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. The 23-year-old forward, having concluded his tenure with Paris Saint-Germain, will embark on his next chapter in La Liga, with his competitive debut anticipated during Real Madrid's season opener against Real Mallorca on August 17/18. A week later, he will experience his first home match at the Bernabeu against Real Valladolid.

 

Mbappe's move to Real Madrid comes as a free agent, reportedly securing a base salary of 15 million euros ($16.2 million) per year, augmented by substantial bonuses linked to his transfer to the Spanish capital. This transfer marks a significant milestone for both the player and the club as they prepare for the challenges ahead in the upcoming season.
