Kylian Mbappe Returns to Real Madrid Squad for Champions League Match Against Lille

Real Madrid has included Kylian Mbappe in their squad for the Champions League match against Lille on Wednesday, following his recovery from a thigh injury that had sidelined him for one game. Initially, it was anticipated that the French forward would be out of action until after the upcoming international break, but his swift return has surprised many.

 

Mbappe picked up the injury during last Tuesday’s LaLiga victory over Alaves, which rendered him unavailable for the recent 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid. His absence in that derby was notable, but now the team looks forward to having him back on the field.

 

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed Mbappe's inclusion in the squad on Monday ahead of the trip to France. This match against Lille is particularly significant for Mbappe, as it presents an opportunity to play against his brother, Ethan, who is also part of the Lille team.

 

In contrast, Real Madrid's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will not participate in the match due to a hip muscle injury he sustained during the game against Atletico. His absence adds to the challenges faced by Los Blancos as they prepare for this crucial encounter in the Champions League.
