Kylian Mbappe resumes first-team training, likely to stay with Paris St-Germain

Kylian Mbappe, the forward of Paris St-Germain, has resumed first-team training, indicating that he is likely to remain with the French champions this summer.
The 24-year-old French forward had been absent from training with the first-team squad and was excluded from PSG's opening match, which ended in a goalless draw against Lorient on Saturday.
Mbappe had been involved in a contract standoff as he expressed his desire to join Real Madrid. However, recent developments suggest that he might extend his contract with PSG.
In a statement, PSG mentioned that Mbappe's reinstatement came after "very constructive and positive" discussions took place.
During Saturday's match, Mbappe watched from the stands alongside his fellow France teammate Ousmane Dembele, who recently joined PSG from Barcelona for £43.5 million. Mbappe was also omitted from the team's pre-season tour to Asia.
With just one year remaining on his current contract, Mbappe has refrained from signing a new deal so far. Last month, PSG granted Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal permission to enter discussions with Mbappe after receiving a world-record £259 million bid.
The decision to reintegrate Mbappe into the team was reached after talks between all parties over the past 12 hours. PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi had been resolute in not allowing Mbappe to leave without compensation, suggesting that an agreement is likely to be reached. This agreement might involve Mbappe signing a one-year extension to his current contract, which would extend it until 2025, potentially facilitating a transfer to Real Madrid next summer.
In an official statement on Sunday, PSG stated, "Following very constructive and positive discussions between Paris St-Germain and Kylian Mbappe before the PSG - Lorient game, the player has been reinstated into the first team training squad this morning."
Mbappe, who initially joined PSG on loan from Monaco in 2017 before a permanent transfer worth 180 million euros (£165.7 million), has notably scored a club record 212 goals in 260 games.
