The France national team has picked Kylian Mbappe, a forward for Paris St. Germain, as its new captain.
Hugo Lloris, a goalkeeper for Tottenham who retired from international football in January, is replaced by him.
Since making his senior debut for France in 2017, Mbappe, 24, has 66 caps.

"On the field as in the life of the group, by being a unifying element."
On Tuesday, Deschamps announced Mbappe as captain and Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann as vice-captain, according to the French Football Federation (FFF).
Mbappe led all scorers at the 2018 World Cup as he assisted France in reaching the championship match, where they lost to Argentina.
As France won the world championship for a second time in 2018, he was awarded the competition's best young player after scoring two goals in the championship match against Croatia.
At the Stade de France, Deschamps' team plays the Netherlands in their opening Euro 2024 qualifying match on Friday before taking on the Republic of Ireland on Monday.
