Kylian Mbappé ended his goal drought with a powerful strike, and Jude Bellingham added a header as Real Madrid triumphed 3-0 over Leganés on Sunday. Despite Leganés' solid defensive efforts, Madrid broke the deadlock just before halftime, with Vinícius Júnior setting up Mbappé for his seventh league goal of the season.
The second half saw Madrid dominate possession, with Federico Valverde doubling the lead from a free kick after Bellingham was fouled in the 66th minute. Five minutes from the final whistle, Bellingham sealed the win with a header to ensure all three points for the visitors.
The victory pushed Madrid to second place in the league with 30 points, just four behind Barcelona, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Celta Vigo. Mbappé's goal came after a four-match dry spell, with his last goal in all competitions being scored against Celta Vigo last month.
Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti praised the team's control of the game, particularly the tactical adjustments that saw Mbappé positioned on the wing and Vinícius Júnior inside. Thibaut Courtois, returning from injury, had little to do as Madrid dominated possession. Madrid's next challenge comes on Wednesday against Liverpool, followed by a La Liga clash with Getafe.
