After a hard-fought battle against relegation in the just-concluded 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), the coach of Kwara United, Kabiru Dogo, has expressed uncertainty about his position in the dugout of the club. The Afonja Warriors had a challenging season, managing to secure their place in the league by finishing in the 13th position with 51 points from 38 games.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Dogo has assured fans and the media that he will reveal his plans very soon. This announcement has created a buzz among the club's supporters, who are eager to know the direction their team will take in the coming season.

Reflecting on the season, Dogo admitted that he still has a valid contract with the club, but he emphasized that his future will become clearer in the near future. "Although I have a contract with them, in the next few weeks, I will determine my next move. You will hear from me very soon," he stated. This statement has left room for speculation about whether he will continue with Kwara United or seek new opportunities elsewhere.

Dogo also highlighted the high expectations placed on Kwara United, given its status in Nigerian football. "Kwara United is expected to win the Nigeria Premier League given its status," he remarked. This expectation has undoubtedly added pressure on the team and its management to perform better in future seasons.

The coach pointed out that the past two seasons have been particularly tough for the club. "We should be able to learn a lesson from the last two seasons that have been very tough for us," he said. He expressed his disappointment over the club's struggles and emphasized the importance of learning from past mistakes to avoid similar situations in the future. "I will be disappointed again if the club still struggles next season—it would mean we have not learned our lesson," he added.

As the team heads for a break, Dogo mentioned that the next steps will be decided by the owner of the team. "Now, we are going for a break. The team will go and rest. The next thing will be decided by the owner of the team," he explained. He reiterated his belief that his future will be decided in the coming weeks, providing some clarity on his position with the club.

Kabiru Dogo's future with Kwara United remains uncertain, but his forthcoming announcement is eagerly awaited by the club's fans and stakeholders. His reflections on the past season and the challenges faced by the team highlight the need for strategic planning and improvement to ensure better performance in the next NPFL season.
