Kudus strike salvages thrilling draw for West Ham against Newcastle

West Ham's Mohammed Kudus rescued a thrilling draw against Newcastle United with an 89th-minute equalizer at London Stadium. Newcastle appeared poised for a fifth consecutive victory as Alexander Isak netted a second-half brace to overturn Tomas Soucek's early opener for West Ham.
 
However, Kudus, in his first Premier League goal since joining West Ham, fired a precise shot into the bottom corner to ensure the match ended in a share of points. Both teams maintained their positions in the table, with West Ham in seventh and Newcastle in eighth.
 
The match took fans on a rollercoaster of emotions, with West Ham initially looking to continue their impressive league start. Soucek capitalized on an unmarked opportunity to open the scoring after just eight minutes. Newcastle, determined to respond, came alive in the second half. Isak found the net twice within four minutes to give them the lead.
 
However, Kudus's late strike saved West Ham from defeat. The match almost had a dramatic conclusion as Jarrod Bowen's shot was saved by Newcastle's Nick Pope, with Said Benrahma narrowly missing the rebound. Overall, Newcastle had dominated the majority of the match, almost following up their impressive midweek victory over PSG, but tiredness crept in, allowing West Ham to snatch a late equalizer.
