Kogi United FC of Lokoja Feeder's Team is now one of the teams expected to make it debut in the 2023 Nigeria League One (NLO) season after getting a slot.
As part of promises made by Gov. Yahaya Bello to curb social vices and promote youths’ developments in the state, the players will now have an avenue to showcase their talents and fulfilled their dreams in football.
The Chairman of Kogi United, Mallam Abdulmalik Isah Dolly told Africa Sport Network (ASN), that the NLO slot was secured for the Feeders players to create more avenues for the youths interested in sports.
The news about the NLO sport was revealed immediately after team's finals at the 2023 state F.A Cup's final against their senior team Kogi United.
According to him, " I'm delighted to announce to you that you will be participating in the 2023 NLO One this season.
"The government has secured a slot for you to pursue your career in Football.
“As you all are aware, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello has special passion for the youths and will always give his supports for any of you to achieve your desired dreams, now you have the platform to develop yourselves, go and make His Excellency proud,'' he said.
The team manager of the team, Itodo Olachene Michael also used the medium to thank the Governor, management and Chairman of the club.
“On behalf of the entire players and officials of the Feeders Team, I want to really thank the Gov. Yahaya Bello for this wonderful opportunity given to players to fulfilled their dreams, every one of us is happy to receive this news.
“We promise to be good ambassadors of the state, we shall make the government and the entire state proud.
“We want to equally thanked everyone who contributed to make this dream a reality, especially our amiable chairman,'' Itodo concluded.
Both Kogi United FC and the Kogi United Feeders will represent the state at the 2023 National Federation Cup competition.
