Match Review: "How we earned a draw against defiant Rangers Int'l FC" - Katsina Utd Coach
Posted : 20 November 2023
It was an unexpected result in Awka for Rangers International FC as they were held to a goalless draw by the underperforming Katsina United FC.
Despite dominating the game in Awka, the host Rangers were unable to break the backline of the away side.
The match ended 0-0, much to the chagrin of the Flying Antelopes, who many thought should assert their superiority over the Changi Boys.
However, after leading his team to a valuable away draw against Rangers, Katsina United coach Bashir Saduki has praised the players for their decent performance.
Reacting to the result, Saduki said the team's focus was a win and the three points at stake, but it was never meant to be.
“I am very happy for the boys, myself, and the team for the away draw. It is essential to reach our set target for the season. We came to pick all the points at stake but are happy with the one point we got,” he said.
For Katsina United FC, Bayelsa United FC will come calling at Umaru Dikko Stadium for Match Day 10, while Rangers International FC will travel to Aba for yet another Oriental derby.
