Karim Benzema's Goal Assists Real Madrid Advance to Quarter-Finals

Real Madrid and Liverpool's goal-fest in the first leg was not to happen again as the former team breezed into the competition's quarterfinals. Madrid was in a strong position to advance to the final after winning the first leg 5-2. Karim Benzema's second-half strike gave Madrid a 1-0 victory at the Bernabeu in the return match.

Real Madrid easily advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions League after Liverpool was eliminated from the competition by Real Madrid with a quiet 1-0 victory at the Bernabeu thanks to the holders' stellar performance at Anfield.
