Kanu scores, Durosinmi stars, Plzen wins; Osimhen scoreless

In a dramatic Czech Cup encounter, Viktoria Plzen secured a 4-1 victory over Zlin after extra time, with significant contributions from Nigerian players Stanley Kanu and Rafiu Durosinmi. Kanu opened the scoring for Zlin with a stunning early goal, but Viktoria Plzen responded, forcing the match into extra time.


Durosinmi, who entered the game in the second half, played a crucial role in the victory. After a disallowed goal, he headed home the decisive goal in extra time, marking his fourth goal in as many games since returning from injury. Jan Kopic added two more goals, solidifying Viktoria Plzen's advancement to the quarterfinals.


Across Europe, Nigerian players experienced varied fortunes. In England, Wilfred Ndidi played the full match for Leicester City, but they suffered a 2-0 defeat to West Ham United. In Brazil, Samuel Otusanya scored a consolation goal for Náutico in a 4-1 loss, marking his first goal in the Copa do Nordeste.


In Egypt, John Ebuka scored his debut goal for Al Masry in a 3-0 away victory. In Serbia, Stephen Chinedu continued his scoring streak, netting his second goal in three games for Radnički Kragujevac.


Meanwhile, in Turkey, Bright Osayi-Samuel featured in Fenerbahce's 4-1 win, while Victor Osimhen, despite coming off the bench, could not find the net as Galatasaray drew 0-0 with Konyaspor.
