Kano Pillars, Katsina United secure promotion tickets to NPFL

It was a day of glory for the two Northwestern club at the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8, playoffs as former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Champions, Kano Pillars and Katsina United earned their way back to the premier league.

Kano Pillars secured a return to the NPFL following their relegation to the NNL last season.

Despite a defeat to fellow Northern side Katsina United in the Match Day 3 of the ongoing NNL Super 8 playoffs in Asaba, Delta State, Kano Pillars secured promotion with six points after recording back-to-back wins over DMD FC and EFCC FC.

Katsina United on the other hand secured the second promotion ticket with six points after their win 1-0 win over Kano Pillars, Victor Mbaoma once again scored for Katsina United for his 4th goal in the playoffs.

It will be recalled both Kano Pillars and Katsina United got relegated at the same time last season and have both made an instant return to the top flight.
